Kito American Subsidiary – Harrington Hoists
Writes Order for 400 Manual Chain Hoists for Freeport LNG
Manheim, PA, April 24, 2019 - Harrington Hoists Inc., the US subsidiary of industrial hoist and crane maker Kito Corporation (head office: Yamanashi Prefecture; president: Yoshio Kito), has written a volume order for 400 manual chain hoists for Freeport LNG in Texas. The hoists will mainly be used to adjust the positions of gas pipes and hold them in place.
The firm is undertaking a pioneering project to transform an import terminal on Quintana Island near Freeport, Texas into a facility for natural gas liquefaction and LNG export. Construction began in 2014. As gas production increases substantially in the US with the "shale-gas revolution," the project has focused energy-industry attention. In full operation the three production facilities (or trains) will support annual supply of roughly 15 million metric tonnes of natural gas worldwide, including to Japanese gas firms.
Harrington and its customer Zachry Industrial, in charge of construction in the project, "have established a close relationship over ten years built on the quality of our products and ability to help employees in the field," says Brendan Conley, Harrington sales representative in charge of the project. "They have used many hoists in the field, and tell us they believe no hoist on the market stands up to the durability, toughness and quality of a Harrington hoist."
